Ole Miss star running back has entered the portal. He’s from Montgomery and played at Pike Road. I doubt we have a shot but never say never.

I wonder if a lot of these players that enter the portal are just trying to position themselves for more money from the school there at.
It seems like the Ole Miss NIL would be more willing to find a way to pay more for their star player that has entered the portal, versus if he decided to stay and wasn't in danger of leaving.

While never is the original answer, leverage is the second part answers.

About 4-5 years ago Bill Self (Kansas Bball coach) said NIL besides changing things the worst part would be the jealousy part.

Very soon almost every elite/good player will enter the portal each year. They are all on one year contracts that expire in December and the portal is the special place where you go to renegotiate your contract. It’s so messed up but it is what it is!

Certainly an opportunity for a whole bunch of new agents looking out for the players' best interests as they negotiate what's best for their clients

Ole Miss star running back has entered the portal. He’s from Montgomery and played at Pike Road. I doubt we have a shot but never say never. Wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up at Auburn what happens when the stud from A hits portal and goes to B and then to C and then back the following year to A for increasing amounts. A did not want him back at first but he is such a stud he gets his 4-6 mill and gets to stay in college with all of its perks and then goes to NFL for the average 3-year career of 3 years only at about 10 mill a year. It is a calculated guess on their part, but the college game is NOT the meat grinder the pros seem to be for running backs. So, 200 K freshman year, one mill sophomore, 2 his junior year, 4 mill his 4th year and then 10 for 3 years and ends up one more year at 8 and ends his career with a little over 45 mill and not unable to walk.? The biggest point is going BACK to a school that now forgives and values him more now?? I so hope somehow and someway that someone gets a grip on this. It is kind of like telling a bunch or 5-6 year olds that you have a room full of candy and just go in there and eat as much as you want. Because what could go wrong? ?
