I hope Troy athletics gives him a shout-out in some form on Tweeter and Instaface. He played amazing while he was at Normal...moved to Oregon when his brother transferred there. Can't blame him and he has shined in Eugene. Over 120yds so far. Hope he gets a TD or two.
Also, Liberty setting the G5 back about 30 years. SMU should have been in this game.

This is what they wanted! They did not want what happened last year to happen again with the green mist beating USC Therefor they put #8 vs aN overrated #22 team with the weakest schedule in college football ! They do t want a P5 G5. They want a. P3 or even P 2 and the rest will ge on out with no chance of making it into the 12 team playoff

He balled out for sure No. We fought hard in the late '90s, early '00s to get away from that set up. I don't care what kind of "bowl" season we have. If you don't think the move to Div I made a difference in TROY and TROY football, watch a NDSU or Idaho game. Look at the facilities and the quality of play and compare it to what we enjoy. We are where we are only because we mad the move from a lower division to the top level of CFB. we have to fight to not go back.

The days of those upsets are limited.

He balled out for sure Essentially that would be 1A and 1AA all over again IF the NCAA presidents plan goes through for NIL funds being generated by the school and each school has to have X million in cash, we will have two leagues. One with the big boys and one with the rest of us.

The only reason Liberty got the spot in the New Year's Six game is because the decision makers don't watch the games. They just saw that Liberty was undefeated and rubber stamped the deal. Never mind the Flames didn't play anybody all year and their reward was getting boat raced on national TV to Oregon.

I grew up during the Division 2 years and was fortunate to see two Nattys. I was a student at Troy and a flunkie during the 1AA years. Before the internet, I would wear my Troy State gear and people had no clue about Troy. In fact, my Jr High football coach asked me once, "Did Troy State make the playoffs?" We had just won the 1987 Natty. If we drop to a lower division we will fade into obscurity.

Fade into obscurity = I'm laughing- just wait until the 12 team playoff Once you are no longer in the hunt, season over Bowl games outside of playoff - IRRELEVANT College football is over sir - I hate it The rich are going to get way richer I love the Sunbelt and I hope our conference continues to improve because I love to travel to Mobile- South Alabama Memphis- Arkansas State Atlanta - Georgia State Savannah - Georgia Souther Myrtle Beach - Coastal Carolina New Orleans - LA Lafayette San Antonio - Texas State Boone & Asheville - App State Williamsburg - Old Dominion Great conference, just irrelevant an I'm okay with it - just be the SBC and be content

If we drop a division, I think ticket sales will go down. Enrollment will go down. There is no going back. It’s forward or bust. It was that way when we initially made the move. There were talks of closing the Troy campus and moving the school to Dothan and renaming it southeast Alabama or some other nightmare.

Tez coming back to Oregon (one outlet saying he did great for a freshman) But as eluded to in the previous post, college football is HUGELY transitioning. There is a pretty good video by dalukes on the history of the Big 10. Gives early history on angst to the death of college football.

The answer is simple. Have the SBC tell the mouse to F off. SBC football needs to go the route of Twitch and Rumble. Twitch streamers that play chess make more money that Troy Football. <-- the data is out there. The SBC football teams don't need broadcast or cable television anymore. Everyone has the internet these days. Build an app, figure out how to make a high quality broadcast of the games and start counting the cash. Build your own espn. Don't be slaves to the mouse. The money is out there, don't let someone else collect it for us.

There will be a transition and perhaps the little and pseudo little guys and even some now big guys (with a little b) will be in a different division. Just like the advent and transition in or near the turn of the previous century this too will settle down. But now we have so much TV and they need content. Plus there will be millions of fans left out of their schools left out. I (hope) believe what will happen when all shakes out is you will have JUST AS YOU HAVE NOW a division between pro and college football. The upper division will be PRO II and eventually the Kansas State, Oregon State, Purdue, Northwestern, and yes the App states and Troy’s will be the afore mentioned college football with some separation by the more have’s and the less have’s will be just like it is now. With this caveat: The KSU and Georgia Tech’s know that having JMU’s and Troy’s in with them gives them a bigger piece of the pie. This is because the PRO II league just like the pros now have an amount that no one can hope to sustain. Thus not as much money but a big ole audience for something that looked like a world MANY missed in the hearts. Those guys of about 40 schools still turn on feasting upon the new college groups but the little guys have some rules that make it as stable as it can be.
This is what will happen because just like around 1900 people like or love college football and what is happening now is no longer a college sport.
