I’ve been to almost all the Troy Bowl games and this one was my least favorite. Sure winning would have helped, but it just felt weird. Maybe it’s because I live in Bham and didn’t travel. I went to fan fest yesterday and it wasn’t much until the pep rally started. Breakfast this morning at the southern kitchen was pretty good. Overall just felt kinda blah….
Curious what those who travelled and stayed in town thought?
What all did the players do besides go to the bowling alley and arcade (and throw up)?

Also the first bowl game we played without our HC for the season. That put a damper on things for sure

Looooong lines at entrance and concessions. Cold $6 hotdog after 20-minute wait.
I could not get there early for any of the rah-rah or Troy functions. I think I'll pass this bowl in the future and watch from my EZ chair. Cure Bowl experience much better but a bit more $$ due to hotel and airfare.
Sumrall gets the L, on to next.

I’ll say I enjoyed the event. Food Friday night and Saturday morning was nothing fancy, but fine. The weather was awesome. The Troy turnout was incredible (bet UAB enjoyed seeing a real crowd inside Progressive), band and cheer leaders were in good form and hotel wasn’t bad (Hampton Tutwiler). And perhaps just as important, had a chance to catch up with old friends, and meet new ones including the incoming head coach. You want to complain about bowls? Happy to remind you what San Jose was like many moons ago. Sad we lost but overall positive experience. Go TROY!

Birmingham did a good job hosting! The pre game activities were really good and Troy did an excellent job last night and this morning! The stadium is nice to watch a game but getting in and navigating to goto concessions or the rest room is awful ! It’s a pretty neat venue with traffic on the Highway visible to the south and the low flying planes to the north !

I don't know who designed the stadium, but why on this earth did they think it was a good thing to build it in such a way that entrance requires a walk UP 4 ramp levels to get to the top of the lower bowl only to walk DOWN to the field that is at street level.

I’ll say the stadium club tickets and seats were worth the money. Would love to see Troy revamp the SC to be more like this one. Not more Like UAB, just more like that stadium.

Yes. That entrance was a little odd to say the least. Also they are pretty limited on the bathrooms. Fan Fest was slow getting started, but it turned out to be fun. The Dread River Event was outstanding.

Inquiring mind wants to know >>> What features make Protective Club a better venue?? Actual working kitchen area with pregame food options, a different menu for 1st half then it changed again in the 2nd half. All were good and clearly not our Sodexo. It was larger open area just based on a smart design, nothing we can do about that part and plenty of high top tables to hang out. They actually checked wristbands ant two checkpoints to ensure you belonged in the area, unlike the hard workers in Troy. The amount of people who buy GA tickets yet enjoy the amenities in Troy is sad. They had free sodas and beer plus a cash bar. The stadium seats that came with the tickets were along the 50 and nice padded chairs.

The cornhole clan tried SC our first two years and decided it lacked value.

I absolutely love Protective Stadium (and Legacy Arena for that matter), especially in comparison to Legion Field but the concessions are unreal and not worth it, that I would absolutely agree with.

What do you like about Protective? I’ve been three times now and have hated it each time.

What do you like about Protective? I’ve been three times now and have hated it each time. The stadium is nice overall, I've sat throughout the stadium and haven't found a bad seat. The location is excellent and so much better than Legion Field, too. And for me, the press box is one of the best I've ever been in, far superior to Tuscaloosa and 100 times better than Auburn's hideous press box.

Does the bowl get demerits for overall experience for poisoning a few players?

I don’t like how you can’t walk around the stadium without going up to different levels…but most definitely better than legion field and a better part of town.
