TROY, Ala. — Two changes have had a profound effect on Austin Sullivan’s senior season at Troy University. One change was physical, the other mental. One change was before the season, the other happened after his first outing. Together, the two adjustments have resulted in the season of Sullivan’s life. Prior to this season, Sullivan, a 2010 graduate of Fort Walton Beach High School and now a member of Troy’s bullpen, worked with Trojans pitching coach Brad Phillips on changing his throwing motion, switching from an over-the-top release to a sidearm delivery. “My first outing this year didn’t go well at all,” said Sullivan. “I had worked all offseason with Coach Phillips on my arm slot, and I felt like I was pitching better. But when I struggled the first time out, I changed my mentality. I talked with my coaches, I talked with my dad. I just started thinking about making a quality pitch every single time, and it has worked.” ( Full Article) iconTroy3
