CRENSHAW COUNTY, AL (WSFA) - Troy University officials confirm a Troy student has died and another student has been arrested. Crenshaw County authorities say 18-year-old Kristin Fuller was shot and killed early New Year's Day. University officials say Fuller was a freshman from Luverne. "The University extends its most sincere sympathies to the Fuller family during this difficult time," university officials said in a statement. The shooting happened between midnight and 4:30 a.m. Wednesday at a home off County Road 29 between Luverne and Troy, according to a Crenshaw County Sheriff's Department investigator. Taylor Driggers, 19, of Brantley, has been arrested and charged with manslaughter. Troy confirms Driggers is a student and signed to play on the university's football team in February but hasn't joined the team yet. "It was anticipated that he would join the team in the spring or summer of 2014," according to the university. Driggers was a football star at Brantley High School and part of the school's state championship team in 2012. ( Full Article)
