3 from Montgomery area on Super All-State softball listA. Stacy Long, Montgomery AdvertiserBIRMINGHAM —Three Montgomery-area high school softball players made even more history Sunday. Elmore County's Elissa Brown, Macon-East's Paxton Searle and Brantley's Alex Wilcox are three of the top 10 players in the state -- regardless of their school's classification, division or creed. The articles have stated that Paxton Searle will be a walk-on and she will be on an academic scholly...

They could use the academic scholarship so it doesn't count towards the athletic count. Pretty common in women's athletics. Doesn't mean she isn't a walk-on, it's just hard to tell. We attended a lot of camps before my daughter got injured and we were always told by coaches if we are looking at two girls...one is great with a 2.8 Gpa and the other is really good with a 3.8 GPA and we can get academic help on her, we are taking the 3.8 GPA
