And we thought Sumrall leaving for Tulane was dirty...
Whewwww... this one takes the cake. Not only did Shawn never establish his residencey in Atlanta, but he left the program for a TE Coach position where his family was still living. AND... he left in the middle of spring practice.
That's rough. But it's a perfect opportunity to pursue a quality HC that can take Georgia State to the next level. Georgia State and Scott Frost or Rich Rod sounds like pretty good fits.

Yeah timing is tuff, but cornhole can empathize with family move over money talk$/coach walks move.

Scott Frost if he wanted to get back in coaching would be a good bet. The job at Nebraska that Rhule is pulling off is nothing short of phenomenal POTENTIALLY! Scott was SO close with a scad of close loses. Go 50/50 and he would still be the coach. Unfortunately, he was 95/5% (or something like that) in close games often on last possession. Snake bit to a new level. I remember how many close ones with Brown we won. 9,10 or 11 wins over 5 makes a BIG difference. As to when Brown left. Hogerson or whatever his name is left West Virginia just prior or about same day as our bowl. I am too lazy to look it up. Either way their search was either finished so close to bowl or after Neal stuck around. Like said, losing coach now is a gut punch but Georgia State with literally no fan base may be a tough gig to really win at no matter who.?

Several years ago when Jorja St played at the old domed stadium, Corn and I went to the Troy game there. Outside were thousands of people. Their party continued but few maybe hundreds came in to the game. It was bizarre to me that 20k would show up to party at a college game and just party and not go into the game. Hard place to get folks to bye in!

The fans they do have are terrible and they harbor that dumb train horn. They deserve a few bad breaks for the train horn alone.

Don't know why they (GA State) like it. It doesn't add anything to the game.

DEFINITELY Ted Turner baseball leftover, BUT Georgia State Staffers will tell you that it represents the university’s first buildings being located near the train tracks and transportation hub of the city - I ain’t buying that logic (and I worked there 3+ years). YES, it is awful IN PERSON. In fact the only way I was willing to attend the last game there was to purchase earplugs and wear them the entire time in the stadium because you never really know when they will decide to sound off‼️
