I’m sure you’ve seen by now, the SWAC is expected to announce (Monday) that they are canceling their season.
FYI, our week one opponent is a member of the SWAC.
Not good friends, not good!

The main issue I believe is the cost of testing. The smaller conferences cannot sustain the financial burden of that. One school was testing every player and coach every 72 hours. I work at a hotel where some of these teams were scheduled and I have had two gut-wrenching conversations this morning. These players, coaches and staff are obviously very upset but so much is beyond our control.

Looking on the SWAC's website Auburn, Nicholls, and Stephen F. Austin were also teams scheduled to play member schools for week 1. It could be possible to make arraignments with those schools. I see other colleges like BYU and Hawaii are in desperate need for opponents as well. But I see there is an idea floating around to move the college season to the spring but I don't think that will happen if the NFL doesn't adjust their draft otherwise seniors who have a shot of being selected are likely to sit out the season rather than risk being injured. One thing is for certain 2020 is going to be a crazy season.

Hmmm... Me: "Hey Boss, I know travel is pretty restricted right now, but I need to go to PACOM stat." Boss: "Why?" Me: "Sir this is a directive from SECAF that has an A1 priority and unfortunately you do not have a need to know."
I wonder if that would work.

CALL Mike Turk! Invite Huntingdon down for a Saturday "scrimmage??" That would be like a high school. More realistic would be to invite UWF since they are defending D2 champions.

Call Samford, UNA or Jax State. Make it a throwback game and make Me and Benneckles happy. Honor Ralph Black while you’re at it.

I hope we pick a regional team that does what AR-PB would have done: give us a home game, allow us to give young guys a chance to ramp up, and put a W in the results column. This is not the season to go chasing the Fighting Joe Exotics over in Lee County.
