The NCAA will grant an extra year of eligbility to spring sport athletes and will work to look at winter sports as well.

Particularly how do schools finance and pull this off too? IN ADDITION An extra tip for all of our health: In Pediatrics what we see is about 90% is viral. In most adults with Covid-19 or for that matter with most influenzas there is a 12-24 hour period that we are really tired or exhausted (different than just usual tired). In viral illnesses we begin shedding any virus in larger numbers at that time. So take that 12-24 hour period at self quarantine (as much as you can) for another 24 hours. See if inside your nose burns and stuffy and headache (and still tired ). If that occurs STAY IN QUARANTINE an additional 24 hours. By then as an adult you will likely spike a fever. As we begin to exit flu and cold season (schools closing etc and time of year). Those afore mentioned symptoms will or should initiate a call to a health facility and they will instruct further. Much has been said about high fever cough and shortness of breath BUT by having this 12-24 PRE window we can also slow the transmission and perhaps even cut some cases. Be careful and vigilant. Buzz

How will the extra year of eligibility effect scholarships and recruiting? You're only allowed X number of total scholarships. If they allow another year of eligibility then what happens to recruiting? Do we skip a year? Grant more total scholarships? I'll be waiting to see how this plays out

And there will probably be some unintended consequences as well, good and bad.

If the number of scholarships stays the same, it seems to me underclassmen will suffer. I hope they get it right.
