According to our guy Justin McNelley, Brent Jones will be announced as the next AD. If so, this is a great hire by our administration. Anyone who has been around the last few years can see the difference he has made in this department. Congrats Brent!
Now if Justin was given bad info.... then this is awkward!

I can confirm the news and I also think itâs a great hire. He and his family love the university and town. Heâs smart and assisted in hiring (The HC we don’t speak of) and Cross.

This couldn't happen to a better guy. Brent is a great guy and will be a wonderful ambassador for Troy.

Our underground pipeline from Mississippi continues, hopefully previous success with this continues. The only iffy thing heard about Brent (IMO) was his advocation for Cunningham to stay on. But thatâs not 100% but heard Brent was for letting him stay. Cunningham had people advocating for him to stay in the department, thatâs confirmed, just donât know who.

If you think the AD didn’t ask his right hand people for their input then your just obtuse along with naive.

Apparently LA Tech AD attended the Introduction Press Conference in Troy. Wouldn’t mind playing LA Tech in the future...
Tommy McClelland – Louisiana Tech Director of Athletics "Troy University has made an outstanding hire in Brent Jones. He is a very talented athletics administrator that has demonstrated success every place he has been. I have known Brent for nearly 15 years, and I can attest to his work ethic, leadership and vision for an athletics department and its student athletes. More importantly, I can attest to him being a wonderful person, husband and father. I commend Dr. Hawkins and his committee on such a great hire. Troy Athletics is in good hands."
