The topic is now firing the coach and or staff that just won more softball games than any team at Troy since 2006?

I'll take the opinion of the former player. Pretty sure she knows more than us.

I'll take the opinion of the former player. Pretty sure she knows more than us. Common sense tells me 37 wins in a season, more than any season in the last decade plus, is a good thing. I’m certain her knowledge of the game is greater than 99% of the people on the board. Just remember there were former football players on this very board that were against the hiring of Neal Brown. That worked out OK.

With the AD Department that is in place right now, there will never be a male coach for softball. Now, if the new AD comes in and cleans house, it could be possible. Heck, with the department in place now, we won't be searching for a softball coach any time soon. They seem to be content with graduating players, keeping them out of trouble, and basically being mid-tier in the Sunbelt. I think they would be fine with a male assistant, but it is pretty difficult to fire the family of another teams head coach. We need some changes and fresh perspectives from an outside program and we need it fast. Bring in a GA or something who can spot talent and develop it. I do agree with you on looking at some juco talent. Juco in baseball and softball is totally different than football-basketball. There are a lot of talented girls playing juco ball because their parents couldn't afford to play ASA Gold level travel ball and go to out of state national tournaments and unless you can do that it is very, very difficult to get D1 schools to look at you because they don't scout HS games. CFC here just won the FL juco championship and went to the National Juco world series. Several D1 caliber players that are extremely well coached by a proven winner, same with Chipola.

I'll take her knowledge of problems in the program, she was part of it. We can't get over the hump, that was her point. P.S. Mullins isn't remotely in the same category as NB either. We beat LSU, Nebraska and got robbed by Clemson.

Neal Brown was a homerun hire and yet certain former players missed it by a mile. I’m sure the players and staff are more upset about the missed opportunity in the tournament than any fans or former players.

The topic is now firing the coach and or staff that just won more softball games than any team at Troy since 2006? Hemi - you totally missed the first post. Our best out of conference win was against University of North Alabama at RPI #110. Anyone can win games against subpar competition. I like the Coach and I want her to succeed, but something has to change. She needs to get a hitting coach from outside that has been in other successful programs. The RPI that came out on May 11 indicates that Western KY, North Texas, Liberty, SE Mo State, Wichita State, and Texas State are all better than us. We are at RPI #63. My point is that this would not be acceptable in any other program at Troy.

Boom this ! This is and has been the issue with this entire Administration. This mindset is infested in the Admin offices. It frustrates alumni and supporters to the point of giving up.

I’m just thinking it’s a tough sell when you look at the increase it wins (especially in conference) over the last two seasons.

We played three SEC schools and two ACC schools and were out scored 54-7
Three game series against the best team in the Sun Belt ULL out scored us 25-1
This was softball alums point. The toughest OOC opponent we beat was TUNA and we are light years behind ULL
So we beat Incarnate Word and FAMU and some low level Sun Belt teams. We aren't remotely over the hump and never will be unless Mullins make some changes like softball alum said. We don't hit the ball against better pitching and our pitchers get shelled against good teams. We have the facility and we are in a great recruiting area. Records are great but mean nothing unless you are actually beating decent teams.

It frustrates alumni and supporters to the point of giving up. Dear Administration I will no longer support your program that has improved its win total by 17 wins in the last two seasons. 11 more wins in conference than 2 years ago. This is totally unacceptable. I was able to turn around my PlayStation dynasty in only 4 games of the first season. Furthermore, if you aren’t willing to fire coaches every year I can not be a part of this. I will now focus on my original loves. The Bama football and Softball, Kentucky Basketball, The New England Patriots, and Golden St Warriors. Sincerely Mr Bandwagon, winners only, I pick my team after they win a championship, angry alum, I want free tickets, Idiot. Saint, your logic looks so good when you lay it out for everyone.....

I hate all those teams you mentioned. It’s Troy for me there truck guy. This was actually a little bit funny in its lunacy. It’s better posted this than your blind following off a cliff posts that even a blind, gorked lemming can see are nonsense. Exhibit A: you thought Jeremy Rowell would be an excellent head coach at Troy after CLB left.

This past season was probably Mullins best chance for a conference title/NCAA bid. This was a veteran team. And are did we make it to the postseason at all?
No. We went 0-2 in the conference tourney as the #2-seed.
Don't forget, Mullins is only two years removed from a season where Troy was actually set to host the conference tourney... and we weren't even playing in it.

Here is the deal - the portal is open! Go get us some hitters off the portal. UAB has already picked up two SEC players. We will forget about the past if the coaches will take some new steps to the future. Don't keep doing the same thing over and over and sitting at home when the conference tournament is over. Work hard. Pound the pavement. Bring in a hitting coach. Get a GA from a different program. Develop a pitching staff (not just an ace).

Things I learned from watching the Women's College World Series this weekend ... UNLIKE other sports, TRANSFERS can play immediately!
I believe this is a rule change year so I would think that might be addressed / tweaked this year. Until then, maybe it would be a good time to go shopping and add to the arsenal.

Don't use facts or truths as a former player especially one who has forgotten more softball than 100% of the posters here actually know. It is an uphill battle for some sports at Troy especially when one fan here said once " He didn't care anything about NRPS here at Troy". If T-R-O-Y is on the jersey then this administration should want it to be the best in the conference and I don't care if we field a curling team, it should strive to be Sun Belt Curling Champs!!!!

ULL announced the addition of Mia Camuso (Oregon starter that played in the WCWS in 2017 and 2018), Callie Martin (Missouri starting OF), and a JUCO pitcher from Miami Dade College. Does Troy have any transfers coming in? Can we get a press release if so? I heard that one of AL pitchers is entering the portal, Preston. Has anyone checked to see if she might want to come just a little farther south and stay in AL? I think she is a lefty. There was no mention of Megan Kliest in the press release, but they sent something out last year stating that she was coming in as a graduate in 2020 to ULL. She pitched for Oregon at WCWS and was an All-American. I hope that fell through.

And...we get an announcement! Tate Moseley from Auburn to Troy. The press release says she will have 4 years left because she took a redshirt, so I am guessing she had some type of injury. She wasn't on the roster, but she was listed as a signee by Mickey Dean. After this one announcement, maybe we can get some more. This portal is like a player draft. Keep them coming!

And explain to me why Davis got really, really good players and pitchers from Australia and yet we can't recruit Cent South Florida, California, Arizona and Texas? You dont even have to go there. These players are at the ASA Gold tournaments in the summer. All in one place. When Tim Walton first came to UF the joke was it was UF-California as 3/4 of the players came from CA. Why? Superior talent and travel ball curcuit
