I don't know how Country's stays in business. The last time I ate there it was horrible and vowed to not go back. Ate the last few games with my daughter at half shell and was very pleased with the food and the cost, anxious to try the new bbq place. Country's in Troy is closed. When you don't go back you don't know it's closed. Hooks was so much better it wasn't even funny.

Ricky from Hooks is selling to a new investor and getting out of the business. Sweet Rack has an opportunity to win over lots of folks. Hooks is still the best, but Sweet Rack gives folks options. My wife and I went to Hook's yesterday (Sunday) after church and it was slammed. The line curved around the tables to the door. So yeah, this town definitely needs another barbecue place. I miss Jackie B's! Country's went downhill fast and finally closed. There is the Bar-B-Q House up 231 that I have heard is pretty good, but I think they are closed on Sundays. Make sure to go by Milky Moo's on Sunday and get some ice cream from my daughter Kristin michael-jackson

Make sure y'all go by and say "hey" to Jamie and Lindsay at Sips the next time you're downtown and try their outstanding food and beer on tap! I recommend the lunch trio (chicken salad, pimento cheese and fruit) and the brick oven pizza. Haven't tried the calzone but it is HUGE and looks really good also! www.yelp.com/biz/sips-on-the-square-troy

Sweet Rack opened last night, I hope to try it out this weekend. I'm a huge fan of Sips on the Square, the wings on bread is great! Love what downtown is becoming.

Any comments on the Sweet Rack Rib Shack? Heading down to Troy and plan on dining there, do they have entertainment scheduled for the weekends?

Any comments on the Sweet Rack Rib Shack? Heading down to Troy and plan on dining there, do they have entertainment scheduled for the weekends? A coworker and one of his buddies went last night and had the pulled pork platter and the smoked chicken. They said it was fantastic ("This is the best food in Troy"). I hope to get by there next week!

Thanks '75, I plan on taking my wife there this weekend. So happy that the downtown area is bringing in good restaurants. Looking forward to checking it out.

Went for lunch today. Had the pulled pork sandwich "DD" (down and dirty which is basically Carolina style- with coleslaw on top). It was really good. A few folks that ate with me had the smoked turkey platter and chicken quarters. Everyone said there food was good. Next time I go I am going to try the catfish sandwich.

OK guys, I took the family to the Sweet Rack Rib Shack on Saturday after the baseball game and I told the owner that I would put in a plug for his fine establishment. The restaurant looks beautiful, the food was fantastic, the service was great and we had our meal in about 15 minutes after we sat down. My wife and son-in-law enjoyed the smoked chicken, I had the ribs, one daughter ordered a chicken sandwich and the other had the loaded nachos. There was a great crowd, and entertainment was coming to play upstairs later that evening. This is a great place for food in Troy, I highly recommend it to you all. By the way, the owner said they would soon be adding a couple of beer micro-brewery type machines to offer locally made beer for the customers.
We're lucky to have the SRRS on the square, go get a good meal for a very reasonable price.
Go TROY!

Sips will also be doing some in house micro-brews soon.
I'm glad to see Troy finally coming into the 20th century... Yes the 20th century...

SRRS is nothing short of AWESOME! It's a great place for us students to get a great meal with large portions and fair prices. My group of friends has been three times already, and we are pleased every time.
You have to try the fried pulled pork appetizer. And no, I am not kidding. It's delicious. It also comes on a sandwich.

Trojan Talk at SRRS would be great and it's literally next door to the Radio Station! I think that would be the ticket and I'm certain the owners would welcome the Trojan family upstairs on Tuesday nights to host the event for Barry, our Coaches, and our fans.
Go TROY!

Ate there last night for the first time. I had a rib plate, wifey had pulled pork. Each were quite good. Better than the other BBQ in town. I like the other place & will continue to go, I just put that out there as a comparison of sorts. For us, we'll just go for the food and a couple of beers. Any entertainment offered won't likely be for us since we'd have an 8 y/o son in tow most of the time. But, for the rest of y'all I hope they bring in entertainment which appeals to you and that it's successful.
