Why does SinnerFlorian feel the need to nitpick every post by Possum? Why is he trying to run off a Trojan fan? Guys, there are reasons to support other teams and also be a loyal Troy fan. I am one. I support Troy and FSU UNLESS they are playing each other then...... It's Troy. Then there is no loyalty issue on my part, it's Troy. My lovely daughter went there and my wonderful son-in-law played baseball there so I will support them in their competition when they play and I could care less who understands because I do. I do feel that an alumni's allegiance should be with his university FIRST. As I've said before, they give me FSU gear but I always wear Troy. Now I WILL NOT use their logo or anything like that in place of Troy, I got my Masters degree at UWF but they are no factor even though they have a good baseball program. It bothers me, and I've bought a few friends who are Troy grads, shirts and hats to replace their UF UA gear. I have a friend who played baseball at Troy but got his Masters at UA. I give him grief about wearing UA gear constantly and acknowledging them constantly on Facebook while never mentioning Troy. We just need to help our university every way we can every chance we get. I agree!! No need to bash a diehard Trojan though to push an agenda, as in the case of Florian. We've had a lot of Bammers and Aubies at our tailgate and we never discriminate because their cash spends the same as mine inside VMS. Just no need to bash Possum who is a dedicated Trojan for his unwavering support and opinion.

I believe, on this particular thread, the bashing was started by Possum. But, isn't it ok for him to question, why Clint would be a Bama football fan? And if indeed, if Clint didn't respond then doesn't that that leave reasonable doubt? I have no issue with Clint what so ever, but it is in fact ok for Possum to question his loyalty to Alabama football in my opinion. Possum is a Troy guy, and donor, so why can't he ask why a former Troy athlete is representing Bama football on his Twitter page? Surely he doesn't think they would support him in the same way? Would it be ok for Clint to want Troy baseball fans to rally around him while he was cheering on Bama football?

Not much for name calling or bashing any Trojan trying to ask a sensible question or voice an opinion. Just once I would like to see a graduate and maybe even a former player from one of the " big Alabama or Florida football programs" wear Troy gear to their game. Wouldn't that be historic? Think about it. Reduculous to imagine? Then why not the reverse? When we played FSU in football my son in law took me to their Lettermans suite to watch the game. Not only was I not allowed to wear ANY Troy logos, I couldn't even wear our school colors so I wore all white....head to toe!:-)

I have tweeted that I'm extremely disappointed in him... Got no response. You sir have conviction of your beliefs, respect. I disagree with your position but that is ok, that is what it makes it great. Your posts are respectful.

Let's try to keep the conversation on an adult level.

I certainly will not call anyone an elitist snob, but I despise that mentality. It is exactly what I dislike most about many of the bammers! I do think we should avoid appearing to be elitist or snobbish. In my opinion, we will win many more friends and supporters by welcoming anyone willing to support Troy, even if it is not to the same level as we who are diehard, all in, all the time!

I think we're losing sight or the spirit of the original post. It wasn't about fans or current students wearing other schools' gear, it was about a former Trojan showing support for another program. It's America and he has that right, but doesn't make it right. LB has said many times that it didn't matter where the money came from as long as people gave...but that wasn't what the thread was about.

Don't push people away because they are not 100% Troy and only Troy. I'll take all the 50% fans we can get to fill up our stadiums, arenas and ballparks. Anytime.

An attack on a Troy fan because he voices displeasure over a former Troy athlete's desire to cheer for Bama football. They welcome all with open arms, but oddly enough attack a diehard Trojan for being a diehard. Really rather confusing to me.

JMHO but it seems to me that some people have a problem with the diehards "attacking" former Troy athletes for their choice of rooting interests outside of the sport they played at Troy. In the case of D-Ware, Auburn is his hometown for goodness sake.

Hemi, I do not believe I am attacking anyone. I don't like that Clint Robinson is a bammer football fan, but it is more because I hate bammer. But we have folks who appear to be attacking him when he has always given lots of credit to Troy and Coach Pierce for his athletic success and appears to be an avid supporter of Troy. If my disagreeing with the opinion that Clint is somehow a traitor is an attack, then yeah I am attacking!

The name calling by certain individuals is uncalled for, but that's likely a maturity thing.

Could be I suppose. However, Florian seems to have some issues with Troy and the people of Troy. He's ranged from calling them hicks to elitist snobs in recent months. Troy does in fact need all the fans they can possibly get, but it's also ok for someone to take offense to Clint's bio in the same manner others were offended by the softball team, Nick Duke, and the bookstore employee that showed up at the Georgia game cheering for Georgia. For me personally, Clint is welcome at my tailgate anytime. I'm not mad, but I see why some would be upset.
